About The Tao Investor — My Journey in Investing
My journey into investing began through an unexpected path—Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
My professor, one of the best in the world, was also a top engineering science graduate who wrote his thesis on stock picking. Through him, I was introduced to the timeless wisdom of Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, and Peter Lynch.
Then, by pure chance, another encounter shaped the next phase of my journey.
While riding the bus one day, a man noticed my Muay Thai gym bag and struck up a conversation. He turned out to be a former hedge fund manager who had managed over a billion dollars. Through him, I discovered technical analysis, geopolitics, and event-driven investing.
In time, I was able to outperform both mentors by integrating their financial knowledge with the disciplines I had mastered through martial arts, psychology, philosophy, sport science, and social media.
Beyond investing, I’ve spent years as an ecosystem builder in martial arts and an innovator in sports science, which has connected me with high-profile entrepreneurs, world leaders, and leading academics—many of whom shared timeless insights that continue to shape my perspectives today.
